Pattie & Ty, manning the table! |
If you're interested in the program, all you have to do is drop off a $10 deposit to rent a bicycle and helmet, and you're off and running (or in this case, riding). When you return the bike, you get your $10 back. It's THAT easy!! They have "cycle stations" along the Rail to Trail where you can stop to grab a bike. Currently the only "Cycle Station" that I know about is at Andy's Market (836 Hopmeadow Street), but I heard that they are announcing 6 more on May 1st! AND, for a $1 donation (Pattie told me that $1 goes to printing more), you can also get a map of the trail. I grabbed one while she was here.
An adaptive cycle from their group! |
The best part about this program is that they have an adaptive cycle program as well. It's great because that means everyone can get out cycling, moving, and enjoying the trail! If you check out the photos that I attached below, you'll see a certain "celebrity" club member on her very own adaptive cycle!
If you missed the opportunity to chat with Pattie about the program, and would like to do so, you're in luck! She'll be back again this Wednesday night at 6 PM to chat about the program with you!
